Putting the feelers out for my rising 12 year old 14.2.
Very honest advert! I have had Bill for just over four years and originally bought him to bring on and sell but ended up falling in love with him!
He is a cracking dressage pony and has done all riding club activities, but unfortunately he is too small for me and I really want a horse to jump some bigger tracks.
Bill is scoring in the high 60s consistently at prelim level and would definitely go up the levels if his rider so wished, unfortunately dressage isn't my thing so haven't pursued it. His owner before me showed Bill in hand to county level, and he would do equally well under saddle! I believe he would excel in either of these spheres.
Bill will comfortably jump around a course at 60/70cm, but is definitely more of a kick along to jump than something that'll take you to a fence. Has xc schooled, been on fun rides etc. and behaved impeccably.
Hacks alone with me 5/6 days a week. Is golden to hack alone/in company, does gates for you, get on and off from the ground if need be, good in open spaces, has fantastic brakes but can have a "look" things and can be wary of big traffic such as tractors, HGVs etc. for this reason I would say not suitable for a novice or would suit someone who has access to quiet lanes/off road hacking.
I have done everything with this pony and he always tries his heart out. He will be someone's best friend! He absolutely loves people, is a real cheeky chappy, good to shoe, catch, clip, load and travel.
I take this pony out every single weekend on my own, either to a competition or riding club clinic and he is so easy to do. I am absolutely in no rush to sell and I love this pony so much but I think it's time we both went and did what we excelled at. For this reason I am seeking a dressage/showing home for him as his heart just isn't in the jumping.
He needs restricted grazing and regular exercise in the summer to keep his weight down. Someone who can offer this is paramount!
