About the Role

  • As Senior Yard Technician, you will support the Equine Centre in providing an outstanding and safe experience for students and commercial users.
  • You will assist and support the day-to-day running of the Equine Centre as directed by Senior Management and will directly supervise, including periods of sole charge of student groups during practical learning experience, supporting safe practice and the development of professional standards.
  • You will also support the daily welfare of all horses, including student livery horses, based within the Equine Centre ensuring outstanding care and attention.
  • You will be part of our team hosting and assisting with the running of International equine events and commercial bookings throughout the year.
  • Accommodation for the role comprises of a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared recently refurbished farmhouse situated on-site. Facilities include a large communal living room, kitchen and garden with parking. A pre-paid meal card is provided for use at food outlets around the campus.
  • You will be provided with the opportunity to work towards improving and developing their riding ability within two staff development lessons per week.

About You

  • You will be a qualified coach and hold the BHSQ Stage Three Coach qualification in order to deliver allocated practical and riding sessions, ensuring a quality student experience in line with academic and industry expectations.
  • You will be a team player who has the enthusiasm and drive to motivate students and maintain our professional standards.
  • You will have the knowledge and passion to ensure a high level of horse welfare and will have previous experience of working in a large equestrian centre or an educational establishment.
  • As part of the team you will be able to provide a high level of customer service for both our educational and commercial activities
